Water Supply Debate Continues to Rage on with No End in Sight

With the news from environmentalists and researchers that the plan to pipe in millions of gallons of groundwater from the northern Nevada desert to the Las Vegas area is not ecologically sound, there is all manner of uproar with local Las Vegas community leaders who are at a loss to provide a suitable plan for replacing the recently reduced levels of water available in the Las Vegas area water table.  Considering that the signs of water shortages have been evident for decades, beginning with the drying up of the world-famous Las Vegas Springs, the very features that made the area a popular stopping point for travelers in the old West, it would seem that Las Vegas residents would have taken up the effort to use less water and conserve natural resources long ago.  Regardless of the obvious need to conserve resources in the area, Las Vegas residents still water their lawns at all hours of the day, wash their cars and generally ignore any type of conservation efforts that could possibly be made in the home.

While many residents and locals might point at Las Vegas hotels and casinos as likely culprits, the truth is that these businesses, which host the world-famous Las Vegas shows and Las Vegas attractions that draw visitors from around the world, only utilize 5% of the water that is spent in the Las Vegas area.  With this focus on determining the true culprits of the waste of water that occurs in the Las Vegas area, city planners and leaders could theoretically eliminate much of the draw on the Las Vegas water supply and allow for the natural resources to replenish themselves with time.

Unfortunately, much of the conservation effort has come too little, too late, as residents of Las Vegas have continued to pour endless amounts of valuable drinking water into the soil through various means of wasting the precious resource such as watering lawns and washing cars and even keeping swimming pools filled year-round unnecessarily.

Until Las Vegas enforces its own water conservation regulations, there will be very little chance that the city can recover from the drastic drop in the local water supply, and the growth and expansion that have fueled Las Vegas for many decades will come grinding to a halt, leaving residents and establishment proprietors alike with a grim outlook for the future of the gambling mecca in the desert.

Halo Videogame Character Immortalized in Wax

Filed under: las Vegas — @ 10:07 pm

Las Vegas is famous for all manner of excess, fixated on celebrities such as the world famous King of rock ‘n roll, Elvis Presley, allowing all manner of decadent lifestyles and even earning the moniker of Sin City.  Included in this wild, over-the-top lifestyle is the world-famous Madame Tussauds’ wax Museum in Las Vegas, a very popular Las Vegas attraction.  From the world-famous wax Museum in Las Vegas, a picture, illicitly taken, has been circulated on the Internet of a brownish gray sculpture that looks suspiciously like the Master chief character from the extremely popular Xbox gaming system videogame Halo.  While no other video game properties exist in the famous wax Museum in Las Vegas, the popular Master chief videogame character would be a likely choice, as the popularity of the Halo game franchise is staggering, selling millions of copies around the world and generating all manner of players who are literally addicted to the game online.

With all this focus on adding the extremely popular character to the already robust amount of features at the world-famous Las Vegas attraction, many critics have asked where more famous and venerable videogame characters are, such as Pac Man, Metroid and even characters such as the Indiana Jones stereotype from Pitfall, the legendary Atari 2600 videogame that was so popular in the console heyday.  Many industry experts speculate that the reason the Halo character of Master chief was selected was due to its incredible detail that translates well to sculpture.  Not only providing a suitable character in terms of popularity but physical attractiveness has much to do with selecting which celebrities and other notable personalities are included in the world-famous Las Vegas attraction.

Immortalizing the Halo Master chief videogame character in a town famous for the Las Vegas shows and over the top Las Vegas attractions is largely considered to be an attempt to aim advertising and marketing squarely at the younger demographic that is so ready to burn available disposable income in the gambling mecca in the desert of Las Vegas.  With this focus on the younger demographic, subjects such as the Halo videogame character are indicative of the attempt to skew slightly younger, along with nightclubs that have been replacing ballrooms and wild poolside parties that rage all day and all night and feature all manner of young people in various stages of undress and inebriation.

Las Vegas Sands Corporation Continues Expansion Talks

Filed under: las Vegas — @ 10:06 pm

With all the recent expansion plans of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, there is very little focus by the news media on their future plans for expansion throughout the global economy.  As more and more money is funneled into areas such as China, the Las Vegas Sands corporation seems poised to lead America in investing into all manner of varying and more profitable and gaming friendly international locations around the world.  It is important to note that, regardless of what the Las Vegas Sands Corporation might say in press releases and other informative interviews, many nations are far friendlier to the gaming and gambling culture than the United States has ever been, which must be a powerful deciding factor in moving operations into international communities, such as China.

With the emerging economies in Third World countries all over the planet, the time is right to take advantage of the tremendous amount of currency that is circulating through the hands of the world citizens in general, a strong indicator that the global market can support the type of expansion plans that the world famous Las Vegas Hotel and Casino Corporation, the Las Vegas Sands, has in mind.  With the aggressive international expansion plans that are apparently underway, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation stands to increase their exposure on the global level many times over, by opening casinos all over the world.

The Las Vegas Sands Corporation has publicly stated that it is interested in opening up integrated establishments, what it refers to as super casinos, in any area that appears to be economically feasible in the long term and seems to be friendly to gaming and gambling in general.  This focus on bringing the Las Vegas shows and the Las Vegas attractions that are so popular in the United States to locations around the world is a new and innovative way to bring the Las Vegas attractions to new areas of the globe and simultaneously foster economic progress around the world.  Continuously expanding into new markets is a strong way to capitalize on the initial success of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation and its initial efforts in domestic as well as international markets worldwide.  The more markets that the Las Vegas and Corporation can successfully enter into, the less dependence there will be on the Las Vegas Sands Corporation domestic revenue from the United States, which has been declining in recent years.

Las Vegas Adds More Flights to Inbound Traffic

For an area such as Las Vegas that bases its entire revenue on tourism and incoming visitors and the revenue that they generate, more incoming flights from airlines around the world is always good news.  This is a strong economic indicator that the demand for travel to Las Vegas is healthy and that there are plenty of incoming visitors providing the revenue that is required to power the local economy.  With all the doom and gloom fore casted for the Las Vegas economic condition in the future, this addition of flights from airlines around the United States and the world would tend to contradict this pessimistic outlook.  While it is true that Las Vegas has recently struggled with the slump in the real estate market, the amount of visitors traveling to the area continues to remain strong, signaling the strength of Las Vegas and its tourism industry, fueling the economy and allowing the area to make a strong fiscal comeback.  As more and more visitors travel to the area, more dollars are spent and more revenue is generated, making it a simple matter for businesses to employ more workers and pay those employees better as well as create a better financial condition for everyone in the area from residents to establishment proprietors and even the travelers themselves, who benefit from a higher volume of sales and service.  The focus on bringing in massive amounts of travelers to the area is critical, as without this additional cash income in the form of visitors to the area, the economic engine that powers the Las Vegas gaming and gambling capital would grind to a halt spelling disaster for residents and proprietors alike.

With the additional flights coming into Las Vegas, the financial outlook is bright indeed, as more visitors means more dollars generated and more money spent at the casinos and gambling tables throughout Las Vegas.  In addition, Las Vegas shows and the world famous individual Las Vegas attractions that depend on the incoming tourist revenue benefit from this increased level of traffic from visitors in general, dependent upon the tourism and the vacationing families in the area to generate the revenue required for residents to profit and establishment proprietors to pay their employees.  Naturally, residents and proprietors alike are more than happy to see the increased traffic to the area due to this direct correlation between travelers and revenue in the Las Vegas economy.

Las Vegas Needs to Diversify

Filed under: las Vegas — @ 9:19 pm

Predicating the majority of the revenue stream in the Las Vegas area on the incoming tourist dollars and the income generated through gaming and gambling has spelled consistent success in the past for the Las Vegas area.  But it remains to be seen how well this focus will stand the test of time.  With the recent downturn in the national economy due largely to the slump in the real estate market, Las Vegas hotels and casinos, along with the various assorted shows and attractions, have suffered a reduced amount of revenue and visitors in general.  This significant reduction in general is good cause for alarm in a city so utterly dependent upon the popularity of Las Vegas with vacationing visitors who generate a tremendous amount of revenue.
In an attempt to reduce the amount of dependence on this type of incoming tourist revenue, Las Vegas has promoted other types of industries such as manufacturing and all manner of other types of revenue generating industries that can go a long way toward shoring up the sagging economy in the local Las Vegas area.  By diversifying in bits nature, Las Vegas can effectively ensure its own stable and secure future for years to come with emphasis on more diversification and different types of services and products in the area.

In the future, it is very likely that visitors to Las Vegas will find a whole different outlook in the gaming capital in the desert, as more and more establishment proprietors and entrepreneurs follow the lead of these types of diversification efforts and find some moderate success in the attempt.  With all of the new and extremely profitable types of industries that have sprung up recently in Las Vegas, it would appear that this focus on expansion and diversification into new types of industries will be highly successful in the long term.  This approach has worked out very well for many large cities that have experienced a sharp decline in revenue.  Diversification isn’t just for stocks and bonds, as it can make all the difference in the world when applied to the business world in general.  By diversifying, the Las Vegas area will not be so sensitive to the sluggish economy caused by the slump in new construction and new home sales around the nation.  Until this diversification plan sees fruit, it is likely that Las Vegas area establishment proprietors will continue to struggle.

Las Vegas Makes a Comeback

Las Vegas hotels and casinos have begun to report a resurgence in earnings in recent months, despite the doom and gloom that has been predicted for the area with the downturn in the nationwide real estate market.  As Las Vegas area establishment proprietors report increased return on investment and a strong resurgence in the local market, analysts are clueless as to how to receive this type of news.  With all the focus on international advertising and promotion throughout the world by Las Vegas hotels and casinos as well as the world-famous Las Vegas shows and Las Vegas attractions, it is natural to expect some attention from the international community at large.  But the strong level of business that has been done in Las Vegas in recent months defies any type of predictions that industry analysts have made lately.  With the downturn in the local economy, very few experts would have expected such a resurgence in the local economy, and yet the Las Vegas shows and Las Vegas attractions that power the Las Vegas economic engine have reported stronger and stronger returns from both the domestic and international market, very likely in response to the additional amount of advertising and promotional efforts

With this stepped-up effort at advertising and promotion both on the international stage as well as locally in the United States, the hotel and casino establishment proprietors have made it clear that they will take whatever steps necessary to ensure that the endless stream of revenue continues to come into the area and support the local residents and establishment proprietors.  With the commitment from the shows and attractions, as well as the hotels and casinos to continue to shore up the economy and generate a steady stream of incoming revenue in the form of tourists and vacationing visitors to the area, it is readily apparent that the Las Vegas area, despite all of the doom and gloom prophecy for the area by industry analysts, has plenty of life left in it, attracting visitors from all around the world to the world-famous gambling mecca in the desert.

As the area continues to defy expert predictions and financial forecasts, it is not hard to imagine that this type of effort will continue to be successful well into the near future, as the Las Vegas area continues to look for ways to generate more and more incoming revenue to the local area.

Circus Circus Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas

Filed under: las Vegas — @ 7:27 pm

While it is common to visit Las Vegas and enjoy luxurious hotels and over-the-top amenities at the world-famous Las Vegas hotels and casinos as well as the tremendously popular Las Vegas shows and Las Vegas attractions, the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas offers far more than just a common luxury hotel experience. Featuring a nonstop circus atmosphere, featuring the carnival midway and the adventure dome theme park, the entire family can enjoy roller coasters, laser tag and water rides in the Las Vegas hotel and casino that is basically a circus from one end to the other. Children in particular are extremely delighted by the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, as it is similar to stepping into a theme park or a televised episode of Bozo the clown, as every possible effort is made to bring the circus experience to the Las Vegas hotel, providing a new angle for children to fall in love with.

Considering the reputation that Las Vegas has had in previous decades as being less than family-friendly, it is refreshing for many Las Vegas visitors to see the improvement being made towards bringing the city into line with a more family-friendly attitude overall. By offering more and more family-friendly Las Vegas hotel and casino packages, Las Vegas establishment proprietors at hotels such as the Circus Circus Las Vegas hotel and casino can make all the difference in attracting larger crowds and the families that are so important to the economic engine in the Las Vegas tourist destination. By constantly drawing in families based on the appeal of these types of attractions on children, the Las Vegas hotel can effectively multiply the income and revenue generated at these types of family-friendly institutions that allow for the entire family as a whole to enjoy themselves and doesn’t require such an emphasis on separation of kid friendly entertainment from adult entertainment.

The evolution of the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is proof positive that the Las Vegas area has begun to adopt a subtle and less abrasive image in hopes of attracting more and more families to the tourist destination in the Las Vegas desert. Considering the reduced draw on the crowds in the domestic market due to the downturn in the economy predicated by the recent real estate housing market slump, it has become more and more critical for Las Vegas hotels and casinos to find new methods of attracting families on the Las Vegas vacation to their proprietary establishments.

While the first thing that springs to mind when you think of Las Vegas might not be the nightlife, the Las Vegas area is indeed quite famous for providing a strong level of nightlife entertainment in the form of dance clubs, concerts and all manner of other types of variety shows and acts.  From Penn and Teller to Celine Dion, there is always something going on in Las Vegas that can easily give the vacationing visitor an excuse to stay up all night, enjoying the clubs and shows well into the wee hours of the morning.  With the emphasis on providing every possible amenity and convenience as well as entertainment value for the visitor, it is only natural for the clubs to provide the same level of luxurious amenities that the world-famous shows, attractions and hotels and casinos provide for their patrons.  By effectively bringing in more and more visitors to the Las Vegas area, the proprietors of these types of Las Vegas attractions and Las Vegas shows can stand to earn considerably large amount of additional revenue that is critical to the long-term success of the Las Vegas area in general.

As long as the over-the-top nightlife, combined with the shows and attractions that are so popular, continues to generate revenue and bring in patrons from around the world, the future can only look rosy as more and more visitors intent on enjoying the vacation making the rounds of the late-night clubs and bars that populate the strip and provides so many people with so much to do at all hours of the night.  Without this all night non-stop party, many vacationing visitors would quickly find themselves with nothing to do besides gamble and enjoy Celine Dion concerts.

Whatever type of nightlife you might enjoy, the city of Las Vegas has it.  From ballroom dancing to country line dancing, comedy to all manner of over-the-top entertainment spectacles, the nightlife in Las Vegas rivals that of even the largest cities around the world.  Considering the tremendous amount of people that visit Las Vegas on a regular basis from all different walks of life, it only makes sense to provide every possible entertainment venue for these different types of demographics to enjoy, independently of each other.
